Bundesliga™ by FM Players TCT Team

This tactic's goal is to cover the whole league so it can work for leading teams alongside with the ones from the bottom of the table. In order to make one universal tactic work, freedom of adapting to different clubs with different types of players should be allowed. You can afford to change Mentality in order to focus on defending your own goal, or opsessing the opponent's one. If you feel that your team has specific strength, feel free to add some instructions to exploit that strength. Having in mind that this is the trademark tactic for Bundesliga, the key word is transition, which is the base of this tactic.

This tactic was tested on 3 teams, one from the top (Dortmund), one from the middle (Frankfurt) and one from the bottom of the table (Braunschweig). Results won't be showed, because they aren't the main goal of this project, even though the satisfying results were made. Details related to transition were successfuly accomplished with each one of these teams. In RL Braunschweig is the only Bundesliga team that hasn't played a single minute in formation 4-2-3-1, so succeeding with them is an extra advantage.

This formation doesn't look like the usual 4-2-3-1, but particular instructions affect it to keep the shape of that formation on the pitch.

While the players use their movement to spread the opposition, certain holes in opposition's defense appear, and they are exploited through the middle. Entire team is attacking and also defending. Higher defensive line can support the attack, due to larger number of players in organising the attack. Patience in attacking phase is not in Germans' blood, they use the first chance and their attacks are rarely good. If you have players capable of making fast transition, then you can expect larger amount of scored goals, but if you don't, then this transition could be an another way of counter-attacking, where you can compete with stronger teams without having an outstanding defense.

GK has more demanding role than usual. He is there to support the defensive line, to cover space behind them and to affect the speed of attack with the only instruction.

DCR/L have usual jobs, that's why there is no link to their instructions. The one with better technical attributes is responsible for carrying ball to the midfield, or sometimes playing long through balls towards the available teammates

DR/L have usual jobs in defense, but the emphasis is on their role in attack. They cooperate with wings by moving by the line to the crossing zone, or by making extra space for a teammate.

DMCR has a role of transfering the ball and playing occassional long ball to one of the wings or a striker and can play the key role in transition. In defence he holds opponents tightly with a teammate on the left.

DMCL is the one that has more defending tendencies. Alngside with the defensive approach, some of his through balls will be useful in transition.

MC should be a player with high team conscience capable of connecting lines. His movement will leave him unmarked so he can gather the ball and his passes are often final passes which create a clear cut chance.

AMR/L take their places when the ball is with one of the midfielders in the center of the pitch. Their movement is their strongest weapon. Until they get the ball they stay wide, so they can provide themselves with the space to maneuver. At the certain moment, they join the finish where they get some through balls and finish the action.

STC uses his movement a lot. That movement can open space for wings or make himself available for pass. He stands deep in the midfield, and he moves from the deep towards the finishing zone.

After testing the tactic, one extra game was played to gather some advantages in one place.

This is the situation where you can see the use of wings and their cutting inside, alongside with the striker's movement from deep. Here, Hofmann got the ball from Bender, who passed it through to Lewandowski between the opposition defenders putting him in a clear cut chance.

Here are the right wing and striker perfectly positioned for simple one-touch passes that put the right wing back through. It's an example of wing back's movement by the line.

This is an example of quick supplying of a forward trio. While the striker is supporting the central midfielder, wings are moving towards the opposition goal leaving the midfielder to decide who will he assist to. Here he picked the left side, but the right side wouldn't be a bad choice either.

Examples are from one game, these situations should repeat over and over during the season. Imagem
